Installation CADCAL+CALSCRIPT comes as a self-extracting archive CALSCRIPT.EXE. Double-click the file in Explorer to extract the program to a directory of your choice. The default is C:\CALSCRIPT, but you can choose any directory. After unpacking the archive, please start your CAD program. CADCAL+CALSCRIPT officially supports both AutoCAD and BricsCAD, but it may as well run under other CAD programs that support VLX programs. For your information: CADCAL+CALSCRIPT does not write any data to your computer's registry. The program consists exclusively of the files located in the installation directory; nothing else is added to your computer and no data is changed. Only the CADCAL+CALSCRIPT installation directory will be added to AutoCAD's/BricsCAD's search path for support files. The next steps differ slightly between AutoCAD and BricsCAD. BricsCAD Start BricsCAD and enter the command: _MENULOAD at the command line. Select the directory where you just unpacked CALSCRIPT.EXE and then select the BCAD-CALSCRIPT.MNU file. You may need to change the file extension to *.MNU in the file selection dialog. If you have already installed the CALSCRIPT menu before, unload it first. Load the menu. If the installation directory is not already in the BricsCAD search path for support files, you will now be prompted to locate the CALSCRIPT.INI file. The installation is now complete which is confirmed with a corresponding message. AutoCAD: Start AutoCAD and enter the command: _MENULOAD at the command line. Select the directory where you just unpacked CALSCRIPT.EXE and then select the ACAD-CALSCRIPT.MNU file. You may need to change the file extension to *.MNU in the file selection dialog. Load the menu. If you have installed the CALSCRIPT menu already before, unload it first. You will then need to restart AutoCAD. If the installation directory is not already in the AutoCAD support file search path, you will now be prompted to locate the CALSCRIPT.INI file. If you installed CADCAL+CALSCRIPT in a directory that AutoCAD has not set as "trusted," you may now be asked whether you want to allow the program files to be loaded (ACAD-CALSCRIPT.MNL,CALSCRIPT.INI and CALSCRIPT.VLX). I recommend permanently allowing loading or setting the directory as trusted in AutoCAD's preferences. This completes the installation, which is confirmed with a corresponding message. Deactivation You can easily stop the automatic loading of CADCAL+CALSCRIPT at any time by unloading the CALSCRIPT menu using the _MENULOAD command and restarting AutoCAD/BricsCAD. To reactivate CADCAL+CALSCRIPT again, proceed in reverse: Reload the CALSCRIPT menu using the _MENULOAD command. Deinstallation Because CADCAL+CALSCRIPT does not write any data to your computer's registry and does not store any data other than that in the CADCAL+CALSCRIPT installation directory, you can simply delete this installation directory to completely remove CADCAL+CALSCRIPT from your computer.
